The Future of Hello Kitty Junkies Social Network...


In case you have not yet gotten the word and are part of HKJ, Maria has posted a announcement about Ning phasing out the free services. What does that mean?? that in order to keep HKJ alive Maria would have to pay a monthly fee of 10-100$ depending on the features we will have.. Obviously Maria is not and will not be stuck paying the monthly fee by her self (its not only hers its of all those HK Junkies participating and contributing to the Network). Like Maria said we have 3 options

  1. Pay the service fees
  2. Move the social network to another platform, i.e.e. GROU.PS, Spruz, SocialG, BuddyPress, Lovd By Less, Elgg
  3. R.I.P. Hello Kitty Junkies!?

Many people have put a lot of time and effort into Hello Kitty Junkies so #3 is not an option! But many members cant afford to donate a couple dollars a month to keep it alive. SO THEN what? If we move, like i have said before i have a feeling that in another platform (moving) it will be different... Since we are so use to the way of NING. I love the way Ning facilitates the use of features soo user friendly and interesting at the same time. The other platforms are to complicated/boring... I'm soo sure it cant be more than 20$ a month, if everyone pinched in a dollar we can make it trow and what ever is left each month roll over for the other month and so on.. yea it will be one less hk plush in our collection but isnt it worth keeping HKJ?
